Into the Fields

 I've crested a hill to see

an expanse before me

Below there is a grand display

of flowers dancing freely:

visible harmony 

of peace and beauty

The view takes my breath away

and yet I stop and pause

Each bloom knows not

which part it plays, 

for it is just a flower,

in among the others

The flower blooms as is told,

and plays in rhythm with the music

Each delicate flower could not assume,

the collective impact of the whole

This divine display of glory,

a melody full of beauty?

A vantage point like this is rare,

for I am like one bloom

Only seeing my perspective ––

the sky, the dirt, the air

What use IS my growing here?

What purpose does it have?

But, the melody that I hear

combines with sovereign hand

In the end, if each flower chooses

its music will be sustained, and clear

Rising in beauty with the others ––

the symphony of the faithful.
